Mother
"Mother"
48" x 38" ( this is the size of DeeDee's painting and done in a similar way)
Gesso, Ink, Charcoal on specially prepared jute fabric
***This painting showed at Jung Center Houston and was titled after a line in a poem by CzesÅaw Milosz. "I say Mother, and my thoughts are of you, oh House!" The rooted home imagery, together with the title of Mother speaks of how closely bound our sense of home is to our mother, and how anchored and protected we can feel in that relationship. In some cases, a home can actually serve as a mother figure when that relationship is not in tact.
